A growing industry

Life-Science in Connecticut

In 2021, the Governor’s Workforce Council launched the Bioscience Collaborative to cultivate and promote the benefits of Connecticut as a prominent region for bioscience growth and development. The Collaborative is an industry led group with CEO leadership from Alexion AstraZeneca, Ancera, Arvinas, Biohaven Pharmaceutical, Biorez, Cybrexa Therapeutics, Rallybio, ReNetX Bio, Trevi Therapeutics, and more. The Collaborative partnered with initiatives across Connecticut to advance this mission including BioPath, CTNext, BioCT, Yale University, and local universities.

The purpose of the Life-Science Sprints campaign is to help bring awareness to the resources and workforce available in Connecticut for life-science companies. We hope that this initiative will grow our current community and position Connecticut as a leader in this field.

SPRINT Internships

Connecticut bioscience companies have come together to launch the SPRINT (Student Program to Ready Interns for Next-generation Talent) Internship program.

There continues to be a coordinated effort to ensure diverse applicants have the maximum opportunity for placement at companies in the region and selected interns will have the chance to get a broader understanding of the life-science industry through rotational talks at various companies.

The 2023 SPRINT Internship Program was a big success!

Since the program started in 2021, we have received over 270 interns from over 85 colleges and universities. Interns specialized in fields ranging from research and development to finance to human resources, and much more.
